As Chinese New Year draws near, the energy around Chinatown becomes especially vibrant. Decorations line the streets, families gather for reunion dinners, and everyone prepares to welcome a fresh start. At Kudos by Headlines, this festive season is always a meaningful period for us as a salon. It is a time when our space becomes even more lively, filled with conversations, laughter, and customers preparing their hair to look and feel their best for the new year.
Our salon has always been more than just a place for hair services. We aim to create a calm, welcoming environment where customers can relax, unwind, and enjoy personalised hair care. In the weeks leading up to Chinese New Year, we see many of our regulars returning for their annual refresh, whether it is a tidy haircut, soft curls, or a nourishing treatment to restore shine and manageability before the festivities begin.
Chinese New Year Closure Notice
In celebration of Chinese New Year, Kudos by Headlines will be closed from 16 February (Chinese New Year Eve) to 21 February.Business will resume on 22 February.
This short break allows our team to spend time with family, recharge, and return ready to serve you better. As this is one of the busiest periods of the year, we strongly encourage customers to book their appointments early to avoid disappointment.
Preparing Your Hair for the Festive Season
For many customers, visiting the salon before Chinese New Year is almost a tradition. It represents letting go of the old and stepping into the new year feeling refreshed and confident. At Kudos by Headlines, we focus on hair that not only looks good on the day itself, but remains manageable and healthy throughout the celebrations and beyond.
Our approach is always customised. We take time to understand each customer’s lifestyle, hair condition, and maintenance preferences. Whether it is a subtle trim, structured curls, or a restorative treatment to combat dryness and frizz, our goal is to ensure your hair remains easy to manage during the busy festive period.
Red Packets and the Spirit of Giving
Red packets, or hongbao, are a central part of Chinese New Year celebrations. They symbolise good fortune, prosperity, and heartfelt blessings for the year ahead. At the salon, this spirit of giving is reflected in the way we care for our customers. From thoughtful consultations to honest recommendations, we believe good hair care begins with trust and sincerity.
Many of our regulars have been with us through multiple life stages and festive seasons. These long-term relationships are something we value deeply, and they are at the heart of what makes Kudos by Headlines special.

Welcoming the Year of the Horse
The Year of the Horse represents energy, perseverance, and progress. These qualities closely reflect our philosophy as a salon. We believe in continuous improvement, staying curious about new techniques, and refining our craft while remaining grounded in quality and consistency.
As we move into the Year of the Horse, we remain committed to providing reliable, thoughtful hair care in a comfortable and friendly setting. Our aim is not just to follow trends, but to create styles that suit each individual and last well in Singapore’s climate.

Chinese New Year is also a time for gratitude. We would like to sincerely thank all our customers for your continued support and trust. To our regulars who return time and time again, and to those who recommend us to friends and family, your support allows us to keep doing what we love.
Every visit, conversation, and shared moment in the salon contributes to the warm atmosphere that defines Kudos by Headlines. We do not take this for granted, and we are truly grateful for the community that has grown around our salon.
